Abbey Delray South, a Lifespace Community, is a life plan community that provides the full continuum of care including independent living apartments and villas, assisted living, and a health center with mostly semi-private rooms.
To outline the future growth of the community, both in the short and long-term, a master plan was created focusing on three primary elements of daily life in the community with specific issues to address – kitchen and dining venues, health center, and wellness center.
For the kitchen and dining venues, the desire was to improve the existing main kitchen while also developing additional dining venue opportunities. Planning for the health center, which included exploring both renovation and new construction, the focus was on household design to further their philosophy of person-centered care. Incorporating all levels of holistic wellness was central in creating a branded approach for a full-service wellness center.
To create a strong initial impression, exterior face lifts on multiple elevations of the existing buildings, a re-configured Main Entry, a new gatehouse, and a new Clubhouse with pool were included in the master plan.
Construction is complete on phase one of the master plan which includes a new central kitchen renovation to create multiple alternative dining, a new entry gate house, and facade renovations.
