Having created a master plan in 2004 to reposition Bethany Village, the second phase is currently being planned as a refresh to the original plan. The second phase will include new assisted living, additional dedicated memory care, and new independent living.
Prior to the original master plan, Bethany Village had grown steadily over the years offering a variety of housing, but without the benefit of a master plan. This phased plan began with user group interviews, incorporated a design directive visioning process, produced multiple site plan and infill options, and resulted in a comprehensive master plan for this 100-acre Life Plan Community.
This repositioning and infill project reflects new lifestyle elements with a stronger entry sequence, integration of way finding graphics, a new wellness center, new 56-resident memory support in four households of 14 and assisted living areas, and additional residential areas.
The master plan included a new memory support residence which resulted in a very dramatic change in their skilled care residents – getting more exercise and eating better – as a direct result of the new building supporting their culture change transformation.
The indoor/outdoor connections are enhanced with a secure courtyard that features continuous circulation paths linking the household spaces and providing views to the courtyard. The house scale dining rooms supports appropriate behaviors.
The plan also includes 30 new villas and 30 new apartments built to respond to consumer demands for high-quality larger homes with amenities such as an open floor plan, patio, balcony, and attached garage.
Bethany Village’s commitment to the well-being of its residents, along with the organization’s diligent and insightful planning, has resulted in a well-organized, phased plan for renovation and new construction.
